A recent federal appeals court ruling found that certain immigrants detained after crossing the border without authorization may be entitled to a bond hearing within 90 days of detention. At this time, the ruling applies in Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi.

A federal court in Rhode Island found USCIS’s policy of pausing decisions for certain applicants unlawful. As a result, USCIS must resume processing affected applications and move forward with naturalization ceremonies.
