What Was Announced
The Department of Defense plans to reduce discretionary PCS moves by 50% by 2030.
A 10% cut starts in October 2026. Mission-critical moves still happen, this targets administrative and optional relocations.

If You Are Staying Longer at One Station
Longer tour = stronger case to buy instead of rent.
More time at one duty station means more equity, more school stability, more career continuity for your spouse.
The VA loan math gets significantly better when your tour length increases.
