William is a May 2016, cm laude, graduate of the SMU Dedman School of Law. Prior to graduation he was one of the ten 2016 graduates inducted into the Order of Barristers. While at SMU law, he wrote onto the SMU Law Review and served on the Journal of Air Law & Commerce, he and his mock trial team took first place at the 2014 ABA Labor & Employment Law Trial Advocacy Competition - Dallas Regional
and went on to compete in the national tournament, served as a Garner Law Scholar--working with the Bryan Garner, and won Best Advocate at the 2015 Howie & Sweeny Moot Court Competition. His judicial intern experience was with the Honorable Michael "Mike" Willson, Justice on the Eastland Court of Appeals; the Honorable D.M. Lynn, United States Bankruptcy Court Judge for the Northern District of Texas (Fort Worth), and pool intern for the Honorable Judges of the County Courts at Law for Collin County, Texas. William's primary litigation experience has been on cases involving: disputes among business owners; fraud, civil theft, and breach of fiduciary duty claims; civil appeals; commercial litigation including debt collection; real property including Landlord/Tenant disputes; personal injury including defending PI claims when insurance coverage is denied; family law; criminal defense including related civil and post-conviction relief; construction contract disputes including challenging liens; FLSA and discrimination claims; and civil RICO claims. William has some additional experience in assisting on patent litigation, trade mark and trade dress disputes, state securities violations, franchise law disputes, anti-trust litigation, bankruptcy, and immigration law. William's transactional experience includes reviewing and drafting commercial leases, asset purchase agreements, buy/sell agreements, promissory notes and security instruments, deeds, and commercial real estate contracts.
