If federal investigators contact you about drug charges, conspiracy allegations, or someone else’s case, your first instinct may be to “clear things up.”
Pause first.
Even casual conversations with investigators can create serious legal problems if you do not fully understand what is being asked or how your statements may later be used. A few important reminders:
▪️Be respectful
▪️Do not guess or speculate
▪️Do not volunteer unnecessary information
▪️Speak with an attorney before answering questions
Federal investigations often unfold over long periods, using records, surveillance, interviews, and cooperating witnesses.
Preparation and strategy matter.
I represent clients in both state and federal criminal matters and work to make sure their voice is heard clearly and effectively throughout the process.
