These data centers use massive amounts of water, and the cheapest alternatives for these companies are to locate them next to our existing lakes in Texas.
These data centers will have tremendous negative impacts on the lakes and reservoirs that support our drinking water. For example, Cedar Creek feeds water to all of Tarrant County.
The companies do not want to fund creating their own reservoirs or spend money on desalination and other more expensive alternatives. Please stop this data center that will ruin Cedar Creek Lake and steal drinking water from the people of Tarrant County.
We need these data centers, but there are far better alternatives for Texans - the AI companies will just have to foot the bill - not us! Please sign this petition.
For those of you on the fence who use AI, cut and paste the following query into AI and see for yourself:
“What would the actual cost be for large AI data centers to use desalination, recycled water, or privately funded water infrastructure instead of relying on public drinking-water reservoirs, and how significant would those costs be relative to company revenues and profits?”
