J.L. Turner Legal Association

J.L. Turner Legal Association Founded in 1952, J.L. Turner Legal Association ("JLTLA"), is the African-American bar association in Dallas, Texas.

The members of JLTLA provide scholarships to law students demonstrating financial or other needs, provide attorney mentors for law students, perform educational and other community outreach projects for North Texas area residents, and assist our members and the community to become more aware of African-American attorneys who practice in various areas of the law.

We have partnered with the Dallas Black Criminal Bar Association to cohost a virtual Candidate Meet & Greet. Elections are coming up soon and we want to make sure you have information regarding the candidates running for contested benches and the DA seat in Dallas County.

This event will be moderated by President- Elect , DBCBA President , DBCBA VP & Criminal Law Committee Chair .

We are excited to kick off January with an upcoming virtual service event!

We have partnered with Dallas MABA and DAABA to put on a virtual career booth for Junior Achievement’s Virtual Career Fair, which will be held Thursday, January 13th.

Our attorney career booth will provide information to learn all about the process for applying to law schhol, attending law school, becoming a lawyer and practicing law alternative careers.

We are calling on our Attorneys to sign up for a 30 minute shift. Please visit the link on the flyer to sign up!

Thank you to all of our members who volunteered at yesterday’s HOLI-Day of Service at The Chocolate Mint Foundation’s Christmas Candyland Event in Desoto. 🍭🍬

The joy brought to these families yesterday was absolutely touching. The program was emceed by WFAA’s , who did a fabulous job. 👏🏽
