The insurance adjuster wants a recorded statement? Think twice before saying yes.
A client once called me proud that he'd handled the insurance adjuster himself.
He had no idea that the “quick, routine” recorded statement he gave that morning would become something we had to spend weeks dealing with.
Insurance adjusters may ask questions that seem harmless, but your answers can later be used to challenge your version of what happened, the severity of your injuries, or your claim.
Even saying “I feel okay” in the moment could be taken out of context when you're actually dealing with injuries that haven't fully developed yet.
So before giving a recorded statement to the other driver's insurance company, consider getting legal guidance first.
Don't let a five-minute phone call create a problem for your claim.
