The legal work matters.

But for Mary Kay, it's the people behind each case that make this work meaningful.

Whether she's helping someone through a difficult season or seeing the relief on a client's face when they finally have a plan in place, it's those moments of trust and connection that remind her why she does what she does.

We asked Mary Kay what part of her work feels most meaningful. Here's what she had to say.

The hardest part of estate planning is often starting the conversation.

But those conversations today can create peace of mind for years to come.

Sometimes, the best gift you can give your family is being the one who opens the door to those difficult conversations so a plan can be put in place before it's ever needed.

When most people think about estate planning, they think about their home, bank accounts, or other physical assets.

But what about everything that exists online?

Your email. Family photos stored in the cloud. Online banking. Social media accounts. Passwords. Subscription services.

These digital assets are part of your life—and they should be part of your estate plan, too.

Taking a few simple steps to organize your digital information today can make things much easier for your loved ones tomorrow.

Life doesn't usually slow down before you decide it's time to create an estate plan.

There's always another trip to take, another milestone to celebrate, another item on the to-do list.

But some of the most important decisions for your family's future shouldn't wait for the "perfect" time. Planning isn't about adding one more thing to your schedule - it's about creating peace of mind for whatever comes next.

Heading off to college comes with a lot of checklists...
Dorm supplies. Class schedules. Meal plans.

But there's one checklist many families overlook.

Once your child turns 18, you're no longer automatically able to make medical or financial decisions on their behalf - even if you're the one paying the bills.

Before move-in day, consider making sure they have these three important documents in place:
✔️ Medical Power of Attorney
✔️ HIPAA Authorization
✔️ Financial Power of Attorney

It's a simple step that can make a big difference if the unexpected happens.

You're helping your kids prepare for the future while keeping a closer eye on your aging parents.

If that sounds familiar, you're not alone.

Many families find themselves balancing the needs of two generations at once. It's also the right time to start conversations about powers of attorney, future planning, and protecting the people you love before a crisis happens.

Don't forget to make time for the plan that protects your family, too.
