In 1926, Carrier's installation at the T.W. Patterson Building in Fresno, California became the first multi-story building to be air conditioned by Carrier, bringing comfort to tenants and paving the way for air-conditioned skyscrapers around the globe.

The future of intellectual property (IP) law was once again on display at WIPO this summer. 👩🏻‍⚖️👨🏻‍⚖️⚖️

Nigeria's University of Lagos (Team Antimony) won this year's WIPO IP Moot Court Competition.

Held at WIPO headquarters in Geneva, the finals brought together the top eight teams, challenging participants to demonstrate their advocacy skills, legal knowledge, and ability to argue complex IP issues.

After written submissions, virtual rounds, and the final showdown, Israel Idara Ifiok and Kaosisochukwu Andrina Nkpolara emerged as the 2026 winners, with이화여자대학교 Ewha Womans University , Republic of Korea (Team Ruthenium), as runner-up.

Israel Idara Ifiok (University of Lagos) was named Best Oralist, and Sultan Qaboos University (Oman) received the Best Memorial Award.
