It's National Dog Day, so it's time you met three members of the team who never made it onto the website.

Name: Bruiser. Also answers to Dobbie the House Elf. Also answers to no one. Position: Director of Security. Weight: six pounds, every ounce of it authority. Specialties: judging visitors from a warm blanket, hearing a cheese wrapper from three rooms away, holding the entire couch as collateral. Current status: has reviewed your file. Finds you in contempt.

Name: Brady Position: Head of Client Relations. Specialties: greeting every visitor like they're the most important appointment of the day, maintaining eye contact until a lunch settlement is reached, unconditional approval. Current status: undefeated in negotiations. Accepts payment in biscuits.

Name: Gronk Position: Senior Partner. Emphasis on senior. Specialties: holding down the porch, conducting deep review of the facts with both eyes closed, quality-testing every nap surface in Cullman County. Current status: pictured hard at work. Do not disturb — the partner is in conference.

And yes, Brady and Gronk came as a set. It's the only Brady-to-Gronk connection that ends with everybody asleep by seven.

Not one of them has passed the bar. All three of them run this place.

And if your house has room for one more, the shelter always has good dogs waiting on their people. No better way to celebrate the day.

Like most of you, we grew up on Dolly Parton. Her songs played in our kitchens, our trucks, and our fellowship halls, and somehow she always sounded like family.

She never forgot where she came from, and she spent her whole life giving back. Right here in Cullman County, her Imagination Library still puts free books in the mailboxes of our youngest neighbors every single month. That was Dolly — quiet generosity, done faithfully, for kids she'd never meet.

Today we're grateful for the music, the laughter, and the example. Our hearts are with her family and everyone who loved her — which, around here, is just about everybody.

Rest well, Dolly.

Take a deep breath. Most decisions after a wreck don't have to be made in the first 24 hours — no matter how urgent everything feels.

The calls can wait. The paperwork can wait. Your health can't. See a doctor first, even if you feel mostly okay. Some injuries take days to show up, and getting checked early protects both your health and your claim.
