Myrcene, a common terpene found in many strains of cannabis, can be identified by its trademark earthy, wet mulch scent. Because myrcene has sedative-like effects, however, too much myrcene can have its drawbacks, such as sleepiness, a loss of appetite, lowered libido, low energy and activity levels, and a lack of motivation. It may also be a diuretic, potentially causing dehydration, and, if consumed over an extended period of time, it may lead to depressive thoughts. CBD may lessen some of these side-effects. Please talk to your doctor for more information.
