We’ve been located here in Crofton, Maryland supporting the area community since 1997, (with roots in Capitol Heights, MD dating back to 1974) but we still hear, “I didn’t even know you guys were here!”

It’s Biketober! 🍂🚲 Cooler weather, less humidity, and beautiful fall colors make Maryland a great place for fall riding!
Whether your bike’s been busy all summer or sitting in the garage, bring it in for a fall tune-up. Our repair turnaround is usually less than a week!

Now THIS is a properly outfitted Surly Krampus. 😍
One of our regular customers picked up this Surly Krampus Rigid in Salmon Skin Silver and has been getting it set up for some serious adventures—and we’ve had a lot of fun helping him outfit it along the way.
All of the accessories you see here came from Family Bike Shop, and today the Krampus was back in for a little tire issue. Of course we had to stop and admire the finished setup while it was here. 🙌
The Krampus helped pioneer the whole 29+ concept—big 29” wheels, huge-volume tires, tons of traction, and a bike that’s just as happy exploring singletrack as it is loaded up for a long adventure.
Bags, rack, bottles, gear… this thing is READY.
One of our favorite parts of what we do is seeing how customers make their bikes their own. ❤️

A HUGE congratulations to Family Bike Shop customers Sarah Bell & Scott Padgett for completing IRONMAN Maryland yesterday! 🎉
2.4-mile swim. 112-mile bike. 26.2-mile run. 🤯
We’ve had the pleasure of helping keep their bikes ready through all those training miles, and we’re so proud to see them cross that finish line!

🚲 FREE KIDS BIKE RODEO THIS SUNDAY! 🚲
We’re excited to be part of a fun FREE community event right here in Crofton! ❤️
This Sunday, join us at Crofton Elementary School for a Bike Rodeo — a joint effort between the Crofton Civic Association, Cub Scout Pack 115, Crofton Police Department, and Family Bike Shop!
Never been to a Bike Rodeo? It’s a fun, hands-on way for kids to practice important bike skills like starting, stopping, turning, balance and safe riding in a supervised course. 🚲
🔧 Family Bike Shop will be providing FREE bike safety checks & quick tune-ups! We’ll check brakes, tires, chains, gears and other important components and make minor adjustments on the spot whenever possible.
🪖 We’ll also provide FREE helmet safety checks & fittings to make sure helmets fit and are adjusted properly.
⚡ E-bike riders: Crofton Police will have a SEPARATE e-bike safety area covering safe riding, rules and best practices.
🍦 PLUS — stick around for the Ice Cream Social immediately afterward from 2–4 PM!

🪖 Helmets are required to participate
