People are often shocked when I tell them we handle collisions, work comp claims, premises/slip and fall, and dog bites. Really? There are THAT many dog bite claims? Yes! Just take a look!

Did you know?

1 in 8 drivers don’t carry auto insurance. By law, it is required to carry auto insurance on your vehicle. Clearly a lot of people don’t care to follow the law!

This is why it is so important to max out your own Uninsured Motorist coverage. All auto insurance policies carry this coverage, but not all policies are created equal.

If you are hit by an uninsured driver, your own auto insurance kicks in, covering you for your losses. That being said, your UM coverage only covers you to the extent that you pay for. If you pay for the minimum coverage, you can only recover, at maximum, $25,000, regardless of your medical bills and other damages. Some people are paying more to cover other drivers than they are paying to cover themselves and their family! Crazy, right?

Call your insurance agent. Max out your Uninsured Motorist Coverage. And while you’re at it, make sure you have some type of Medical Payments coverage too! 😊

Oftentimes, the first call an injury victim receives is from the insurance company. Remember that insurance companies have billions of dollars, and it is in their best interest to get you to accept the smallest settlement possible for your injury.

Insurance companies love to use the word “accident” to downplay an incident. This taps into the old saying “accidents happen”, meaning it was an innocent mistake, so there should be no accountability. This is a misleading psychological ploy.

My job is to point out the difference between a pure accident and a formal civil wrong that rises to the level of negligence.

Before you sign anything or accept any offers from an insurance company, speak with a personal injury attorney to understand your options!
