Murder Charges DISMISSED!

It was my privilege to get to defend a young man who was accused of being a shooter in the tragic death of a teenager. He told me he wasn't even present at the scene. While we fought to get him a bond, and did it was more than his family could afford. After pouring through 100s of hours of surveillance, body camera footage, interviews and social media records, i filed a motion for a speedy trial to get him justice through a jury trial. That trial was set in a month. After repeated conversations with the assistant district attorney prosecuting the case, The State of Louisiana ultimately came to the same conclusion as me. We're grateful they didn't put him through the stress and ordeal of a trial and dismissed him from the case.

Some big wins to start off the week in Covington!

State v. W. P.- client was facing 5-40 years for a variety of gun and drug charges with a 5 year mandatory minimum. Mr. Shah was able to establish a motion to suppress the search warrant was a valid legal defense. The State after reviewing the motion agreed and dismissed all charges rather continue the prosecution.

State v. G.B- client was facing up to 10 years. Following a through investigation of the circumstances, Mr. Shah was able to convince the State of Louisiana to dismiss all charges against his client keeping him from becoming a convicted felon and sparing him the stress and expense of trial.

Attorney Ravi G. Shah gets another NOT GUILTY verdict in Washington Parish! Jury out only 10 minutes!

State of Louisiana vs. A**** A****- Client was charged with possession of methamphetamines under 2 grams. Despite being offered a plea deal to credit for time served, Mr. Adams insisted on a trial and to try to prove his innocence. Mr. Adams was at least a second offender facing at least up to four years in prison, possibly more if some older out of State convictions were recent enough to subject him to Louisiana's draconian multiple offender laws which would have mandated a twenty year sentence if he lost. Instead, Mr. Shah developed a winning trial strategy which was executed perfectly wherein his client was quickly found not guilty by a jury of his peers!
