OCTOBER 2, 2024: Last Friday, the strong winds from the hurricane down South caused a tree on Russell Street to fall. It fell directly into the electric distribution wires that connected our 2-unit rental to the Duke system. It caused all the connections, intake boxes, and meters to be torn off our house.

There was such widespread destruction in our area as a result of the storm and so many peoples’ power was lost that it was difficult to find an electrical company to fix it. Fortunately for us, we were recommended to SECO Electric Company in Covington.

SECO did a GREAT job of repairing the damage and replacing the damaged parts. Today, Duke Energy Co. found time to re-run a new connection wire to their main transmission lines. The power is restored and everything is back to normal. SECO personnel were competent, expert, courteous, knowledgeable, and efficient. For any future electrical work you need, I suggest that you do what I am going to do; call:

The most easily supported food drive of the year happens Saturday, May 11.

For the annual Postal Carriers Stamp Out Hunger Drive - which is the largest national food collection in the U.S. - residents need go no farther than their mailboxes, where they're asked to leave non-perishable food. Postal carriers will pick up the donations and turn them over to one of seven local hunger-fighting organizations benefitting from the effort this year.

Food collected in Covington will be split between Be Concerned and Action Ministries.

Melanie Robbins with her Legal team -- Jim Leventhal, Delana Sanders, and Bob Sanders -- after winning a month-long medical malpractice trial in Kenton Circuit Court. The money recovered will allow Melanie to get out of the nursing home where she has been since her injury in 2010. She will be able to afford the attendant care, home modifications, and equipment she will need to get her life back. Thank you to Judge Patricia Summe and all the good citizens who took a full month out of their lives to serve as jurors. Justice prevailed because of them!
