🎉 What an exciting honor! Lorena has been selected as the 2025 recipient of the Oregon Women Lawyers (OWLS) Roberts & Deiz Award! This accolade is awarded to those who advance access, equity and justice in the legal system, something Lorena has spent her entire career devoted to.

Since the outset of her career, Lorena has been committed to providing access to the legal system for the most vulnerable. She has advocated for disability rights, non-binary and LGBTQ+ folks, and survivors of stalking, and domestic and sexual violence. Her impact has changed countless lives. A 'bomb cyclone' storm has hit northern California, Oregon, and Washington. Strong rain and winds are predicted to continue sweeping through the regions through Friday.

If you are in the storms path, it is recommended by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to sign up for emergency alerts by local agencies, for Oregon this is via https://oralert.gov/. Additionally, FEMA recommends to stay off roads if at all possible, limit time outside, stay off bridges, and follow local agencies instructions if recommended to evacuate.

We have another staff introduction at TRLF, Marjorie A. Manchen, CRP (Core Registered Paralegal).

Hailing from Southern California, Marjorie moved to Oregon in 2009 and after many years in banking obtained her Paralegal Associate of Applied Science in 2012 and is a CORE™ registered paralegal. She joined TRLF in May 2024, supporting Justin and Rance.

She has been a member of the Oregon Paralegal Association (OPA) since 2011 and has held several board positions. Outside of the office she likes to spend her time with her two Australian Shepherds, Koa and Freezy.
