In 2025, I was honored to obtain what was recognized as the #1 Personal Injury Verdict in Texas: an $890,370,000 verdict on behalf of my client.

While I'm incredibly proud of the result, there's an important lesson that many people don't realize. A verdict and a recovery are not always the same thing. Before the verdict was ever returned, the bar had filed for bankruptcy. The owner left Texas. Even after proving the case to a jury and obtaining one of the largest verdicts in the state, collecting the judgment became an entirely different battle.

That's why, when evaluating a case, I don't just ask, "Can we win?" I also ask, "Can we collect?” Clients deserve honesty about both.

This verdict reflects my willingness to take difficult cases to trial and ask a jury for full justice. But it also reminds us that accountability on paper doesn't always translate into money in the bank. The fight for justice doesn't end when the jury reaches a verdict.

🚗 After a Crash: Your Phone May Be Your Most Important Tool

If you are physically able, take a few minutes to document everything before vehicles are moved and evidence disappears.
✔️ Take photos of all vehicles involved
✔️ Photograph damage from multiple angles
✔️ Capture skid marks, debris, road conditions, and traffic signs
✔️ Take pictures of any visible injuries
✔️ Get the names and contact information of all witnesses
✔️ Save the exact location of the crash
✔️ Request the responding officer’s name and report number

Vehicles get repaired. Witnesses become difficult to locate. The evidence you gather in the first few minutes after a crash can make a significant difference in proving what happened and protecting your claim.

Most people never expect to be involved in a serious collision, but being prepared can help protect you and your family.
