Home prices are expected to keep climbing in 2022, but at a slower pace than what we saw over the last 12 months.

What does this mean for you?

If you’re a buyer who’s been waiting for prices to drop, you may be out of luck. Even if home prices dip slightly (and most economists expect them to rise), any savings are likely to be offset by higher mortgage rates.

So if you’re considering buying a home, you still need to act fast. Start by reading our blog post on other housing market trends to expect in 2022 ➡️ https://ronevansrealty.com/blog.html/a-return-to-normal-the-state-of-real-estate-in-2022-7658762

3 reasons that it can pay to buy or sell a home during the offseason 💸

The fall and winter months are generally considered the “offseason” in real estate. Many sellers mistakenly believe that the cold weather will keep buyers away and that no one is looking over the holidays.

But the truth is that homes are bought and sold year-round. And while the market is typically quieter during the fall and winter, savvy buyers and sellers know how to use this slowdown to their advantage.

What makes a house a home? 🏠 In part, it’s the stuff inside!

I’ve got ideas for unique items to make every room in your house feel homier. Add them to your own space, or give them as gifts this holiday season 🎁

🚪 FOR YOUR ENTRYWAY: A nice bouquet will impress guests as you welcome them to your home, and a monthly flower subscription will keep those stems fresh without the hassle.

🛋️ FOR YOUR LIVING ROOM: Upgrade your “work from home” spot on the couch with a lap desk that keeps your computer from overheating and has a convenient phone slot.

🍳 FOR YOUR KITCHEN: Get a cake stand that’s beautiful enough to decorate your space even when it’s empty (so no one questions where last night’s dessert went).

🛏️ FOR YOUR BEDROOM: Love to wind down before bed with a good book? Keep track of your to-be-read list in a book lover’s journal for your nightstand.

🪴 FOR YOUR GARDEN: Whether you’ve got a full-blown vegetable patch or just a wilted succulent, your plant babies need supplies. Store them in a tote that’s functional and decorative.

Timeframe for Buying a New Build

⏰ Time may not be on your side when buying a new build home ⏰

Most builders are reporting significant delays due to supply-chain disruptions. Some have even canceled contracts completely!

If you’re in a hurry to move into your next residence, then you may want to stick to shopping for an existing home. At least until new construction catches up with the current housing shortages.

Of course, timeframe isn’t the only factor you should consider when planning to buy your next home. Read more in my latest blog post:

FACT: A 2019 survey found that millennials’ homebuying regrets often came down to maintenance issues.

So before you start your home search, it’s important to set realistic expectations about how much time, effort, and money you want to devote to maintaining your next home.

🧰 Are you a DIY enthusiast? Taking on a fixer-upper can be rewarding, though be warned that repairs have become more costly these days.

🏡 Maybe turn-key is more your style? A new construction home could give you fewer headaches… IF you work with a reputable builder who doesn’t cut corners.
