There are some changes happening in Pinecrest that you probably wouldn’t notice just driving around.

The Village recently expanded the Pinecrest Business Alternative District to include two additional properties near SW 104th Street and SW 77th Avenue/Court.

Basically, it opens the door for what these areas could look like in the future.

Pinecrest is also taking a broader look at transportation and mobility throughout the Village.

Nothing changes overnight, but these are the little decisions that can eventually have a pretty big impact on how a community looks and feels.

We’ll keep an eye on it.

If you haven’t been paying attention to what’s happening in Cutler Bay, there’s a lot going on.

One of the bigger projects is Contemporary + MedSquare in Lakes by the Bay.

Plans include 322 residences along with restaurants, retail, medical offices and public open space.

There’s also housing intended for essential workers, older residents and eligible military households.

South Dade continues to grow quickly, and projects like this are going to change where people live, eat and access everyday services.

Definitely one to watch as it comes together.
