Florida’s Amendment 3 could mean lower property taxes—but also less funding for the local services our communities rely on.

Libraries, infrastructure, public safety, and community programs could all face increased budget pressure.

Know the potential impact. Make your voice heard. Vote NO on Amendment 3.

For business owners, estate planning goes beyond personal assets. A well-structured plan should account for the future of the business in the event of death, incapacity, retirement, divorce, or family disputes.

Planning ahead can help protect the business you’ve built and provide clarity for what comes next.

Moved to Florida? Your estate plan may need a review.

1. An out-of-state will may still be valid in Florida, but Florida has its own rules for wills and estate administration.

2. Moving states can be a good time to review your trust, its governing law, and how your assets are titled.

3. A power of attorney from another state might still be recognized in Florida, but it should be reviewed for Florida-specific requirements.

4. Florida homestead protections can affect more than property taxes—they can also impact your home and how it passes after death.

5. How your property and other assets are titled can affect how they are transferred, regardless of what your will says.

6. Florida has unique rules involving homestead, spouses, probate, wills, trusts, and powers of attorney.

Florida’s homestead laws can significantly affect how a home passes after death. Depending on the circumstances, factors such as marital status, children, and the estate plan may determine who has rights to the property.

Understanding these rules can help protect your home and your family’s interests.

A home can be one of the largest assets in an estate, and how it is titled can affect what happens to it after the owner’s death.

Placing a home in a revocable living trust, when appropriate, can allow the property to pass according to the trust’s terms and may help avoid probate. But creating the trust is only part of the process—the property generally must also be properly transferred into the trust.

The right structure depends on the homeowner’s goals, family circumstances, and overall estate plan.
