We believe in hustle, we believe in rest. As we move into the week of Christmas, we will pause the hustle and close the office to make merry and rest. We'll be back following week (except for Wed, Jan 1st)!

We wish the same for you: may screens be turned off and ringtones silenced for just a little while in the grand scheme of things so you can be present and make memories.

When Alex isn’t busy exploring new places, listening to podcasts, or sipping on afternoon cortados (yes, plural), she’s a “Law Clerk Extraordinaire” for Rockridge Venture Law.

As a Cookeville-native, Alex has worked to protect the climbing areas and natural places that make the South such a beautiful place to live and work. She teamed up with the City Council of closeby Monterey, TN to create a new park, Meadow Creek Park, to encourage outdoor recreation and promote ecotourism. She brings her experience in community activism and knowledge of conscious capitalism and corporate social responsibility to Southtown. Her role includes coordinating social and environmental impact events and writing for Southtown and RVL.

Alex graduated summa cm laude from Tennessee Tech University in 2018 with her degree in Political Science: International Relations. She is now working on a JD of her own at Belmont College of Law in Nashville (on an open-a-Bruin-sized-checkbook for her scholarship because she’s fancy smart like that).

According to guidance issued earlier this year by the Patent and Trademark Office, since h**p is no longer considered a “controlled substance,” some cannabis-related marks will be allowed to register under certain conditions.

Meet Lauren Hughes!

Lauren practices law with an innate understanding of the Change Leaders and Disruptors of the world. An actual farm-turned-tech girl, Lauren is equally comfortable talking Ag apps and horse hands. Likewise, she's an adept in corporate counsel within the board room as well as the mompreneur club.

In addition to helping her rockstar clients achieve their dreams, Lauren leads the Women in Tech committee of the Knoxville Technology Council; was selected to advocate among the National Association of Women Lawyers; is an Arts & Business Council of Nashville Arts Board Matching participant; and is a proud member of the Women in Technology of Tennessee organization. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Business from the University of Tennessee at Martin in 2016, followed by a Juris Doctor from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 2019.

Lauren’s unfulfilled consumer product wishlist is exclusively limited to Augmented Reality contact lenses and the MANY eye-opening (ha!) possibilities they will unveil.
