We loved helping the kids start the morning with smiles and laughter, and it was our honor to be able to welcome so many of them from their vehicles! Faulkner County Sheriff's Office recently hosted our Physical Agility Test for students enrolled in the University of Central Arkansas Police & Society class! This event is part of our annual, semester-long partnership with the course, giving students hands-on opportunities to participate in ride-alongs, trainings, and physical testing alongside our deputies.

FCSO deputies are required to complete the Physical Agility Test annually, making this a great opportunity for students to experience firsthand the physical fitness standards and demands of the profession. The test includes a one-mile run, deadlift, plank, push-ups, shuttle run, and obstacle course.

We are incredibly proud of these students for their hard work and determination! We look forward to continuing this partnership and working with them throughout the semester as they gain valuable insight into the law enforcement profession.

We are pleased to announce the 2nd annual Faulkner County Halloween Festival! Come have some spooky fun with the Faulkner County Judge's Office, Faulkner County Sheriff's Office, Conway Police Department, Conway Fire Department, Conway Emergency Operations Center, Faulkner County Historical Society, Faulkner County Museum, Faulkner County Office of Emergency Management, Faulkner County Emergency Squad, and more!

This exciting event will feature a spooky movie in a graveyard, food, games, and tons of candy! Join us on October 28, 2026, from 7:00pm to 9:00pm, at the Faulkner County Courthouse Complex, located at 801 Locust St. Conway, Arkansas! All activities are free and open to the public! This is one night of spooky celebration you won't want to miss!

The 2026 starting salary for full-time Detention Deputies at the Faulkner County Detention Center is $43,516.96 annually. Benefits include paid medical, dental, and vision insurance. Good morning, Faulkner County! Did you know that there are two causes of celebration today, both of which are heavily tied to different cultures? If not, follow us! A separate post will be available with fun facts about both Columbus Day and Indigenous Peoples' Day!

In 1492, Christopher Columbus sailed from the Spanish port of Palos de la Frontera on behalf of Queen Isabella I and King Ferdinand II, but his roots trace back to Genoa, Italy. As such, the story of his journey remains a source of pride for many Italian Americans, whose families also crossed the Atlantic. Columbus Day was created by President Harrison in 1892. Then, in commemoration of Christopher Columbus' historic journey, Congress, by joint resolution of April 30,1934, and modified in 1968, requested the President proclaim the second Monday of October as "Columbus Day".

On October 8, 2021, President Biden became the first President of the United States to sign a proclamation officially recognizing the second Monday of October as "Indigenous Peoples' Day". This day, which is set aside to honor the sovereignty, resilience, and contributions that Native Americans have made to the world, allows a time to reflect and recommit to upholding trust and treat responsibilities to Tribal Nations.
