A long-overdue slow week at the end of a crazy-busy September!

Last month, we warned our followers that Berlin was going to conduct a DWI Roadblock that week. So here are the results: at least 381 innocent people inconvenienced and forced to comply with a roadblock for no reason, 2 innocent people falsely accused and issued citations for a nonexistent offense (mere possession of drug paraphernalia such as glass pipes is not against the law in NH), 4 sober drivers forced to endure the degrading spectacle of performing field sobriety tests for no reason, and... one DWI arrest. And all this on Friday evening the start of Labor Day weekend - way to roll out the welcome wagon for the tourists that support our economy, Berlin PD and Governor Ayotte! Your tax dollars at work!

Hey, the impaired driver roadblocks euphemistically called a "sobriety checkpoint" will be held in the Berlin, NH area sometime during the week of August 30. Unless you're confident that you can stand on one leg in the dark in a roadside roadblock scene crawling with cops and other drivers waiting in line and watching your every move, while keeping your arms by your sides and not even so much as swaying for 30 seconds, as you hold your foot exactly six inches off the ground the entire time, you'd best either eliminate alcohol and weed/etc from your vacation/camping plan altogether, or consider a different vacation / camping destination.
