To an insurance company, it’s business. To the person who got hurt, it’s personal.
Insurance companies have a job to do. They take in premiums, evaluate claims, and try to control what they pay out.
We have a job to do, too: fight for the people on the other side of that equation.
But there’s an important difference.
Behind every claim number is a real person dealing with an injury, missing work, going through treatment, worrying about their family, and trying to figure out what life looks like next.
For the insurance company, the file eventually closes.
For the person who was injured, the consequences can last a lifetime.
Sometimes that gets forgotten.
We don’t forget it.
