We are celebrating the work of Herbert Wendell Gleason, born on 1855, whose photography captured the natural world Thoreau described, helped illustrate the work of John Muir and Luther Burbank, and documented the early National Parks.

Herbert Wendell Gleason was a minister who found his calling by documenting the natural world through his photography. He was drawn to the works of and he captured the changes to . He also helped document the earliest and other areas under consideration for becoming parks for his friend, NPS Director Steven Mather. Gleason's work also illustrated John Muir’s writings and Luther Burbank’s horticultural experiments.

TOWN MEETING 2021 Info

On Tuesday, April 27th, 2021, the 2021 Annual Town Meeting Virtual Public Hearings will begin in anticipation of the June 13th Annual Town Meeting. These hearings provide insight into Town Meeting warrant articles and will be accessible on Zoom, broadcast live on Minuteman Media Network and on channel 9. The hearings will also be recorded and later posted to YouTube and presentations will be posted to the Town Meeting website following the Public Hearings. The hearings are a particularly important source of information this year because COVID-19 streamlining measures will eliminate formal presentations on the articles at our outdoor Town Meeting. The public hearing dates are as follows:

o Tuesday, April 27, 2021, 7PM: Select Board
o Thursday, April 29, 2021, 7PM: Finance Committee - Town Budget and Capital Articles
o Thursday, May 6, 2021, 7PM: Finance Committee - School budgets and Capital Articles, CPC
o Tuesday, May 11, 2021, 7PM: Finance Committee - Enterprise Fund budgets**
o Thursday, May 13, 2021, 7PM: Planning Board
