There is currently a bill in the NC Senate (SB 367) that would require both parties to consent to any recording (audio or video).

That might not seem like a big deal, but it really is. There are so many situations in which victims of domestic violence have relied on recordings of their abuser's behavior to get protective orders, emergency child custody, or criminal convictions for a variety of crimes that are domestic violence related. There are plenty of other situations in which this could present difficulties as well.

The bottom line is, this law is the enemy of the truth, and it's not going to do much besides give abusers even more power than they already have to continue their behavior and get away with it.
