Hm. Just came across the Cleveland v. Oles decision from 2017. What do you think? Is a person "in custody" if they're asked to sit in a police cruiser?

Next week is our last of the fiscal year. We'll be electing Officers and Board Members. (Wednesday, May 31 at 5:30 p.m. at Tony's Restaurant)

Robert Cohen of Porter Wright will be presenting a 1.5 hour CLE on Current Immigration Concerns for the Criminal Defense Practitioner.

June 28 Molly Gauntner, Chief Probation Officer for Franklin County Muni Court will be presenting the new Pre-Release Screening and Probation Changes. President Merisa Bowers and President-Elect Jon Saia have been meeting with that office concerning the new policies and everyone is very interested in having you know about them.

Dues notices have gone out. You'll need to be current for June's CLE. Here are the year's dates: June 28, July 26, August 30, Sept 27. Oct 25 and Nov. 29 are both Professional Responsibility, and our Holiday Party is Dec. 6.

If you have any questions, or if there is anything I can do for you, get in touch, 614-325-5910 or [email protected].

I hope to see you next week.

Thank you to Dave Thomas and Judge Colleen O'Donnell for a phenomenal presentation on voir dire at June's COACDL Meeting! We are so sorry we ran out of time but maybe Attorney Thomas will be kind enough to come back next year for the activity on voir dire.
