ile more than 231,154 signatures by September 29, 2011 to stop House Bill 194 from becoming law until voters have a chance to approve or reject it. This will allow current law to continue in effect from the date signatures are filed until after a vote is taken on the law at the November 2012 election. HB 194 cuts absentee voting by mail by two weeks, shortens in-person early voting to 14 days with no evening, Saturday afternoon or Sunday voting, allows poll workers not to tell a voter if they are in the wrong precinct and if their vote won't count, shrinks the types of voter ID that can be used to vote and cuts the 10-day period after an election that lets voters verify provisional ballots so they can be counted. Ohioans deserve a fair election system that promotes participation and voting for all who are eligible in a system without confusion, exclusion or delay.
