My grandmother considered it a privilege to grow old -- a privilege not afforded to many. She taught me a lot about LIVING. She got a speeding ticket for 'pushing 80' when she was, herself, 'pushing 80' (running late for her hair appointment). In her 90s, she was caught boogying to Blurred Lines by Robin Thicke in her wheelchair. Today we celebrated her 100th birthday without her. 93 years wasn't a bad run, Grandma! Thanks for your role as a "raison d'etre" (reason for being) for Schraeder Law, LLC and me, Larae Schraeder!

Changing gears isn’t just an expression.

On the way to lunch today, the Kenyon student who is “job shadowing” me at Schraeder Law LLC politely asked an unexpected question. “What are you doing to your car?”

We covered a lot of ground today in more ways than one! It reminded me that we are always learning and always teaching — even when we don’t realize it. Kudos to the student for speaking up and asking! He taught me a good lesson today. Schraeder Law, LLC Larae Schraeder

Shout out to Brian McKinney from 9 Trees Landscape Construction for the help he gave a stranger today. Brian was passing by the porch of a long-term care facility when he accepted an unusual, spontaneous request to serve as a witness while someone signed a Last Will and Testament. Little did Brian know that "someone" was a Vietnam Veteran who lost his wife 2 weeks ago, and who was recently placed into hospice care. Now the veteran and his family can rest easier.
