Real talk. You can spend years building a cannabis business and still lose it all, not because of regulators or a bad harvest, but because you didn't plan for the unexpected.
In Ohio, a cannabis license is not property. It does not automatically pass to your spouse when you die. If an un-vetted person takes control, even a family member, the state can freeze the license while they go through a 6 month review process. And by the time that's done, your business may not survive the wait.

The attorneys had a meeting this morning. Over coffee and golf.
And honestly it made us think, golf is kind of a perfect stand-in for what it means to practice law. You step up and you have no idea what you're doing. You shank it. You look ridiculous. Heads up, Ohio shop owners.
The rules on h**p products changed overnight, and most retailers don't know it yet.
Under Ohio's SB 56 and new federal "Total THC" standards, most Delta-8 gummies, HHC vapes, and h**p beverages are now illegal to sell outside of a licensed dispensary. A 0.4mg per container hard cap. Almost nothing on the current market makes that cut.
