What actually happened to each of the Cornell 7 ⬇️

Matthew Ingalls: Expelled
Jonathan Newell: Expelled
Winston Lee: Suspended for 2 years, plus probation and educational sanctions
Gillio Lopes: Suspended for 3 semesters, plus probation and educational sanctions
Diego Sarabia: Banned from campus for 3 years after graduating
Scott Norris: No-contact order, educational modules and reflection papers
Scott Kretzschmar: No-contact order, educational modules and reflection papers; reportedly found responsible for attempted s *xual exploitation, not SA

So no, Cornell did not simply make all seven men write essays.

Two were expelled, two were suspended, one was banned from campus, and two received educational sanctions and no-contact orders.

These were university disciplinary outcomes, NOT criminal convictions. The men’s cases and findings differed individually.
