On the morning of December 7, 1941, the attack on Pearl Harbor claimed the lives of more than 2,400 Americans.

The tragedy sparked a movement where the men and women of the Greatest Generation went to war to make the world better.

Today, as we remember the sacrifices the entire country made during World War II, we pledge to uphold their legacy and honor their memory.

11/13/2015

Today is 2015’s third Friday the 13th, the maximum possible. The next triple whammy will be in 2026.
It’s also the last time this century that the date has three consecutive odd numbers (11/13/15).
It’s a terrible day for triskaidekaphobes — people scared of the number 13 — and friggatriskaidekaphobes, who fear 13, but only on Fridays. Another term for a fear of Friday the 13th is paraskavedekatriaphobia.
Norse mythology includes a tale about 12 gods invited to a dinner in Valhalla. But Loki, a troublemaking god, crashed the party and a fight caused Baldur, the most popular god, to be killed.
Judas, the disciple who betrayed Jesus, is said to have been the 13th person at the last supper before Christ’s death. By some calculations, he was crucified on a Friday.
President Franklin D. Roosevelt — “the only thing we have to fear is fear itself” — didn’t like the number 13. He hated to travel on Friday the 13th and having 13 people at dinner.
He died on Thursday, April 12, 1945, just before Friday the 13th.

You wonder how a drug lord escapes prison? Here is how...

ALMOLOYA, Mexico (AP) — Mexico's most prized prisoner paced his cell, first to the latrine, then the shower, then the bed. At every turn around the tiny room, drug lord Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman checked the shower floor hidden by a half wall, because even jailed criminals get their privacy.
