Happy Independence Day from all of us at the firm.

On July 4, 1776, the Continental Congress adopted the Declaration of Independence, marking the birth of a nation founded on the principles of liberty, self-government, and individual rights. While the meaning of those ideals has evolved and expanded over time, they remain at the heart of our legal system today.

As we celebrate with family, friends, and community, we also take a moment to appreciate the freedoms we enjoy and the responsibilities that come with them. We wish everyone a safe, happy, and meaningful Independence Day.

Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865, the day Union troops arrived in Galveston, Texas and informed enslaved people of their freedom, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued. Today, Juneteenth serves as an opportunity to reflect on our nation's history, celebrate freedom, and recognize the ongoing pursuit of equality and justice.

As an employment law firm, we understand that many of the rights and protections we discuss today are rooted in a long history of expanding opportunities and advancing fairness in the workplace. Juneteenth reminds us that progress is meaningful, but it also requires continued commitment and vigilance.

Happy Birthday to Chance Sturup!

Today we celebrate another year of hard work, good judgment, and pretending not to enjoy office birthday attention. Chance consistently brings professionalism, reliability, and just the right amount of sarcasm to the firm, which honestly keeps things balanced around here.

Today we honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Their courage, dedication, and selflessness will never be forgotten.
