I miss Greg. I miss his advice. But, every time I start to get down about his absence I glory in once being in his presence. To be near him was to love him. If Greg were here right now he would beat me silly for my grammar and punctuation. And, I would smile the whole time.

I miss you everyday Greg Scott. In the blink of an eye we went from complete strangers to roommates and I will never forget what you have taught me in those short three years. You gave me more opportunities than I could ever repay, more second chances than i deserved, but most importantly you told me life stories that I will remember for the rest of my life. The memories of Greg Scott will never die.

I still believe Jack Johnson said it best, "new life makes losing life easier to understand." There are few things I enjoy more than rooting for Mizzou when playing/beating kU. One of those is holding a newborn, specifically my new nephew Turner. Now I know how proud my uncle felt when holding me.

Greg told me one time about a scout who was fearful of taking a leap of faith. He said he asked the scout, "do you think I would ever ask you to do something that would hurt you?". The scout, comforted by the suggestion in the question answered, "no.". Then proceeded to take the leap. Every time I tried a case I relied on Greg's teachings. I don't know how you replace such a great man. Maybe you just remember the lessons and keep him alive through those.

My understanding is that the law school will have a memorial service at 1 p.m. tomorrow. I don't have any further details yet, but I get them I will post them here.
