HOW DO YOU FIND ACCIDENT REPORTS 📌 Save this post!
After a car crash, the police show up, talk to everyone, take photos, and write it all into a report. Then they drive off and you're left wondering: how do I actually get my hands on that thing?
Three places to look in Colorado:
👉The city or county where the crash happened: start with whoever responded.
👉Colorado State Patrol: if it happened on a freeway or state road, this is probably who came out.
👉The Department of Revenue, through your local DMV. Sounds odd, but they have the forms and the process to pull your report.
A few things that'll save you a headache: have your crash date, location, and the report number ready if you've got it, and know that most of these can be requested online or by mail. You don't always have to show up in person.
Reports usually take a few days to post after the crash, so if it's not there yet, give it a little time.
