Halloween at the zoo, a film festival at Colorado College, and a downtown fundraiser for outdoor access. Here's what's on this weekend.
Boo at the Zoo (Friday and Saturday, 4 PM to 8:30 PM)
Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is marking Halloween in its 100th year with treats to collect along the paths, all made with sustainable palm oil to help protect wild orangutans. Tickets are sold online only, with no sales at the front gate, and a timed ticket is required for on-site parking. The zoo expects it to sell out. If this weekend is full, it returns October 23 to 25, 30, and 31.
Rocky Mountain Women's Film Festival (Friday through Sunday, opening Friday at 6:30 PM)
Now in its 39th year, this is the longest-running women's film festival in North America. Screenings at Colorado College are followed by conversations and filmmaker forums, and pass and ticket options let you see one film or the whole weekend. A virtual encore runs October 22 to 25 if you can't make it in person.
Folk'n'Flannel Festival & Fundraiser (Saturday, 4 PM to 8 PM)
Wear your flannel to The Meanwhile Block downtown for UpaDowna's annual fundraiser, with live music, line dancing, a chili cook-off tasting, crafts, a food truck, and local brews and cocktails. Admission is $40 and includes one beverage ticket and every activity. Proceeds support UpaDowna's work to make outdoor adventures accessible to everyone.
