Founded in 1983 as William R. Jenkins and Associates, the firm of Jenkins & Roberts LLC is a Black-owned firm with offices in College Park, Georgia. The firm has a statewide practice and has an excellent reputation in the Georgia legal community.
The partners in the firm are William R. Jenkins and Bryndis W. Roberts. They have had extensive litigation experience in state and federal court, at both the trial and appellate levels, and have appeared before numerous local, state, and federal agencies and administrative tribunals. Their litigation experience is complemented by their training and experience in alternative dispute resolution mechanisms.
Mr. Jenkins obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1978 from Mercer University, Macon, Georgia, and a Juris Doctorate Degree in 1981 from the Joseph H. Lumpkin School of Law of the University of Georgia, Athens, Georgia. While in law school, he was a member of the Georgia Journal of International and Comparative Law and served as Managing Editor of the Journal. He was also a scholar in the European Economic Community Fellowship Program.
He has over thirty-six years of professional experience, including experience as an administrative law judge, an arbitrator, and a mediator. He concentrates his practice in probate matters and business law, including business formations, contract review and drafting, and litigation of contractual issues. He also handles estate planning, guardianship issues, professional licensing and disciplinary issues, personal injury cases, and premises liability cases.
Mr. Jenkins is a former trustee of the Lawyers Foundation of Georgia, and formerly served as treasurer of the Lawyers Foundation and Chair of the Oversight Fundraising Committee for the BASICS program. He serves on the Committee on the Organization of the State Bar, the Lawyer Advertising Task Force, the Committee on Aging Lawyers, and the BASICS Committee. He is a past member of the Board of Governors of the State Bar of Georgia, and a past member of the Executive Committee of the Board of Governors. Mr. Jenkins is a member of the board of directors of the Atlanta Legal Aid Society and a past president of the Society. He is a former member of the Board of Trustees of Georgia College & State University, where he served on the Finance Committee.
Mr. Jenkins is admitted to practice before all Georgia state courts. He is also admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia.
Ms. Roberts obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cm laude, in 1978 from Wesleyan College, Macon, Georgia, and a Juris Doctorate Degree, cm laude, in 1981 from the Joseph H. Lumpkin School of Law of the University of Georgia, Athens, Georgia. While in law school, she was a member of the Georgia Law Review and served as the Executive Editor of the Georgia Law Review. She also received the Georgia Association of Women Lawyer's Outstanding Woman Law Student Award. Prior to joining the firm, she worked as the Vice President for Legal Affairs and as Special Assistant to the President for Legal Affairs at the University of Georgia, Athens, Georgia. She also worked as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Georgia.
She has over thirty-six years of professional experience, including experience as a lecturer, administrative law judge, an arbitrator, and a mediator. Ms. Roberts concentrates her practice in contract litigation and employment law. She also practices in the areas of business formations, church law, professional licensing and disciplinary matters, and probate law.
Ms. Roberts is a past member of the Review Panel of the Disciplinary Board of the State Bar of Georgia and a past Chairman of the Review Panel. She is a past member of the Georgia State Board of Accountancy and a past Chairman of the Accountancy Board. Among other activities, she currently serves on the Board of Trustees of Wesleyan College, where she has previously served as Vice Chairman. She is also an avid genealogist and previously served as a Family History Consultant at the Atlanta Family History Center.
Ms. Roberts is admitted to practice before all Georgia state courts. She is also admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Northern, Middle, and Southern Districts of Georgia, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States.
