Real talk: the kids or grandkids just went back to school or college, the house is suspiciously quiet, and you finally have five minutes to think about what comes next.

So... about that estate plan you've been "getting to" since last summer?

We see you. You've had "update the trust" on your to-do list since before the last school year started. No judgment! Life happens. But now that the house is quiet again, it's a pretty good time to actually cross it off.

Getting your will, trust, or estate plan in place just takes a quick conversation to get started.

Book a free 15-minute discovery call with the Lawvex team and let's figure out what you actually need — no pressure, no legal jargon overload, just a real conversation with people who care about getting it right for your family. https://start.lawvex.com/widget/bookings/15minutelawvexdiscovery

Don't let this be the thing that's still on your list next August. Let's knock it out now before its Thanksgiving all of a sudden. You'll feel better if you do and we can't wait to meet you.

Back to school or off to college? Either way, parents, this one's for you.

Everybody needs an estate plan. But if you have kids, it's not optional — it's essential.

If your children are still minors, your plan is what makes sure the people you trust are the ones who step in for them if you ever can't. If your "kid" just turned 18 and is heading off to campus, remember: at 18, your legal authority as a parent ends. Without a Health Care Directive and Power of Attorney in place, you may not have access to their medical records or a say in their care in an emergency — no matter how close your family is.

Whether your children are 6 or 26, still down the hall or three states away, a plan protects them, and it protects you.

This is your sign. Reach out to Lawvex for a free call to talk through what your family needs.

Hi, I'm talking to you — the 18, 19, 20-something-year-old who thinks estate planning is not something for her or him.

Once you turn 18, your parents may no longer have automatic access to your medical information or the authority to make decisions for you in an emergency.

It does not matter how close your family is, who pays the bills, or how involved your parents are. Without the right legal documents in place, healthcare providers may be unable to share information or take direction from the people who know and love you most.

Estate planning is not just for older adults, wealthy families, or people who are sick.

For young adults, it can mean having a Health Care Directive and Power of Attorney in place so the people you trust can step in when you need them most.

If you are 18 or older and do not have a plan, this is your sign.

Plus, now through July 31, Lawvex is offering its special "Plan It Forward" promotion for new clients who start their estate plan by the end of the month.

The offer may include a waived plan design deposit ($500 value), a one-hour plan design meeting with a Lawvex attorney, and a free Young Adult Plan for any adult child under age 30 ($750 value).

My mother passed away without a will, a trust, or any instructions for our family.

What followed was months of confusion, and conflict that could have been completely avoided.

That experience is the reason I became an estate planning attorney. And it's the reason Lawvex exists.

This July, we're running our Plan It Forward campaign — because the greatest gift you can give the people you love isn't just a plan for yourself. It's helping them get one too.

Qualified referrals may receive a waived plan design deposit, a one-hour attorney meeting, and a free Young Adult Plan for an adult child under age 30.

If someone in your family is still unprotected, this is the moment to help them change that.

Offer valid July 1 – July 31. Learn more at planitforward.lawvex.com

We're offering an Estate Planning Workshop with Lawvex on Thursday, May 21st from 1pm-3pm in Fresno and you're invited...but hurry, space is limited.

This informative session will answer important questions, such as:
• Do I need a will or a trust—or both?
• How do I prepare a medical directive power of attorney?
• How can I make sure my children are taken care if we aren't around to care for them?
• How do the recent changes to Medi-Cal impact my plan?

Whether you’re just beginning to think about estate planning or want to update your existing plan, this workshop will provide clear, practical guidance to help you move forward with confidence.

Lawvex managing general partner, Gary Winter, will be presenting these topics and providing general guidance to all in attendance. Gary is one of the Central Valley’s premier attorneys with a specific expertise in Estate Planning.

(This speaker’s presentation is intended for general consumer education purposes only. The opinions of Gary Winter are not necessarily opinions shared by Allstate. Gary Winter is not affiliated with Allstate.)
