Calfee Senior Counsel Tae Andrews was quoted in the recent Law360 Insurance Authority article, “Attys Praise Pa. Justices' 'Restraint' In Trafficking Ruling.”

Written by Jennifer Mandato, the article examines a Pennsylvania Supreme Court decision holding that insurers could not rely on the state's public policy against human trafficking as a basis to deny coverage to a hotel facing trafficking-related claims. Tae provides insights into the ruling and how it underscores the principle that state legislatures, not the courts, are responsible for setting public policy, and how permitting courts to introduce new coverage exclusions could have substantial implications for policyholders.

Calfee congratulates our clients, private equity group Century Park Capital Partners and its portfolio company CJ Pony Parts, on the recent acquisition of select restoration-focused brands from Holley Performance Products, including Scott Drake and Brothers Trucks brands.

CJ Pony Parts is an e-commerce platform selling restoration and performance parts to auto enthusiasts worldwide. This expands the company's product portfolio across two of the most enduring categories in the classic vehicle aftermarket, classic Mustangs and classic trucks, further cementing its position as a premium multi-brand restoration platform.

Calfee’s transaction team was led by Brent Pietrafese, Partner and Co-Chair of the Corporate and Finance Practice, and assisted by Associate Attorneys Stephen Carpinello and Blake Harves. Calfee congratulates our client, FTAI Infrastructure, on its of Tidewater Logistics Operating, LLC.

FTAI Infrastructure acquired Tidewater, a barge and rail transloading company with operations in Ohio, West Virginia, and Texas, for approximately $45 million in cash consideration, expanding FTAI Infrastructure’s logistics capabilities and reinforcing its platform serving energy and industrial clients. The acquisition is highly complementary to FTAI Infrastructure’s existing assets and is expected to enhance operational efficiencies and support the company’s continued growth strategy.

The Calfee legal team was led by Corporate and Finance Partner Michael French, who represented FTAI Infrastructure in the transaction. The team also included Corporate and Finance Senior Counsel Unekuojo Idachaba and Associate Attorneys Lauren Christine Kulik and Blake Harves.
