Welcome to the North Central Ohio Counseling Association!

“The mission of the North Central Ohio Counseling Association is to beneficently and creatively support the growth of our diverse, local counselors through professional development, networking, leadership, and advocacy.”

We are an organization of professional clinical counselors, career counselors, school counselors, and counselor educators and supervisors. Our goals are to provide a forum for collegiality among professionals and to advance the counseling profession in the State of Ohio.

Meet NCOCA’s Art Therapy Liaison - Dr. Areka Foster 🎨 Areka is the Clinical Director for the Counseling and Art Therapy Program at Ursuline College. She provides NCOCA with information and insight into the art therapy world! 🫟🖌️ Staying informed and connected at the state level is part of what Areka favors in her service to NCOCA.

Please welcome NCOCA’s newest Board member, Anna Mytko! Anna is an LPCC who works as a counselor and assistant professor at Lakeland Community College. 📓 She also maintains a small private practice where she enjoys working with adolescents and adults. Anna is passionate about counseling and has recently found great fulfillment in teaching, creating a wellness space on campus, and leading workshops focused kn anxiety support. 🧠

Meet NCOCA’s President - Victoria Frazier 👩🏼‍⚖️ Victoria draws from person-centered and feminist counseling theory to delivery play therapy and talk therapy to kids, teens, and grown-ups. She has presented on Play Therapy, Feminist Theory, and Acceptance & Committment Therapy at the state and national level. Her goal this fiscal year is to strengthen North Central’s counselor community! 💪🏻

Meet NCOCA’s Faculty Liaison - Dr. Fawn Gordon 💚 Fawn has served with NCOCA for several years, including its President from 2022-2033! She currently teaches at Ursuline College, and provides NCOCA values insight into the counselor educators of North Central.
