From Clerk to Counsel: DJ Carter’s journey at McCarthy Lebit began in 2025, when he joined as a Summer Law Clerk. He is currently working with the Transactions group while awaiting his bar exam results.

After earning his undergraduate degree from Miami University, DJ attended Case Western Reserve University School of Law, where he developed an interest in corporate and real estate law, areas that ultimately became the focus of his work at McCarthy Lebit. Following a positive experience in the MLCL Summer Law Clerk program, DJ continued with the firm throughout his 3L year, working across practice areas and gaining valuable insight into the practice of law. Along the way, he found a strong mentor in Principal Adam Glassman, whose own journey from MLCL Law Clerk to Attorney gave DJ firsthand insight into the opportunities for career growth at the firm. His experiences as a clerk, combined with the firm’s commitment to mentorship and professional development, strengthened DJ’s confidence in McCarthy Lebit as the place where he could grow, contribute, and start to build his career.
