Words matter. Simple words matter. Here is an anecdote from today (just for extrapolation). I went to a place called Tacos Everyday. They are closed TODAY. If they were called Everyday Tacos I would change my whole analysis. Instead, I am pi**ed! Syntax lesson. Words matter.

Florida divorce law is changing all around us. From new laws on alimony, to equal timesharing to equitable distribution.

There is new case law suggesting you might not have to plead for the partition and sale of your marital home for the divorce court to have jurisdiction over the issue in your case.

Best way forward? Keep doing the hard work. Better to have it and not need it than to not have it and hope the judge agrees with one new case holding.

That does not always match the facts to the law, and it can lead to real errors and mistakes.
