Florida Probate Law Update: Summary Administration Limit Doubled Under House Bill1337
Significant changes took effect in Florida probate law on July 1, 2026. Under HB 1337, the ceiling for an estate to qualify for Summary Administration increased from $75,000 to $150,000 in non-exempt probate assets.
Why This Matters for Florida Families:
Summary administration provides a simplified alternative to the lengthy formal probate track.
Shorter Timeline & Streamlined Procedure: Unlike formal administration, the court does not have to formally appoint a personal representative (executor).
If you are currently settling a loved one's estate, our office can determine whether your family is eligible for this option.
