The story of Buccilli's Pizza is a classic tale of the American dream, built one slice at a time. The family's roots as pizza pioneers in Michigan began in the early 1950s in Metro Detroit. Armed with an old family recipe, brothers Melio, Angelo, and Pasquali "Butsy" Buccilli opened their very first pizzerias.
In 1972, the family brought their pizza tradition north. Butsy opened the first official "Buccilli’s Pizza" in Harrison, and by 1973, Pat and Mary Lee Buccilli founded the iconic Buccilli's Pizza of Clare with just $1,500 and a dream. In the early days, they sometimes sold only a single pizza a day. But with hard work, persistence, and an undeniable recipe, the community fell in love.
Today, that single shop has grown into a cherished Mid-Michigan tradition spanning over 53 years from its early Detroit origins. Marc & Shari Buccilli proudly keep the legacy alive across Northern and Mid-Michigan, serving up the exact same signature taste that started it all.
