The students performed an analysis of the Greater Cincinnati legal landscape and learned about the differentiators that set Strauss Troy apart.

Strauss Troy President Steve Schmidt and Attorney Austin Stevenson recently shared their insights with the Cincinnati Business Courier on options available to these owners, ranging from transitioning the business to the family’s next generation, to key employees or a broader pool of employees, or a traditional exit and third party sale.

Strauss Troy guides privately held businesses through every step of this process, assessing all options available to optimize the outcome for each business.

“The other option would be you sell out. And we did not want to sell out because we do not believe a third-party buyer would respect the business, respect the brand and take care of the employees as well as we had in the past.”

Strauss Troy associate attorney Andrew White secured a favorable zoning appeal ruling involving the City of Trenton, Ohio. The Butler County Common Pleas Court reversed the city's Board of Zoning Appeals decision, reinforcing the legal principle that favors the free use of private property.
