Dinsmore labor and employment attorney Brendan Mohan has been appointed General Counsel of the Cleveland Professional 20/30 Club.

The Cleveland Professional 20/30 Club is Northeast Ohio’s longest running and most prominent young professional organization, dedicated to building professional development, civic engagement and philanthropy among emerging leaders throughout the region.

Brendan was selected following a competitive selection process involving candidates from several law firms in the Cleveland, Ohio area. He will serve on a pro bono basis, volunteering his time and experience to advise the organization and its Board of Directors on any legal matters related to the Club’s operations and growth.

West Virginia Governor Patrick Morrisey has appointed Dinsmore education attorney Mary Catherine Tuckwiller to the Concord University Board of Governors.

MC began her career as a teacher, and prior to rejoining Dinsmore in 2021, she spent seven years as counsel to the West Virginia Board of Education and West Virginia Department of Education.

“As someone who works professionally in education law at the K–12 level, serving an institution with such a rich legacy of preparing educators feels like a natural fit,” said MC. “I am excited for the opportunity to support Concord’s mission, advocate for its students and contribute to the continued success of this outstanding institution.”

As part of our annual Dinsmore Day gathering in Cincinnati, we celebrated three accomplished attorneys whose dedication, service and professional achievements continue to make a lasting impact across the Firm and in the communities we serve.

This year, labor and employment senior associate Don Morgan was honored with the Firm’s Difference Maker award. Named in memory of Alice Neely, the award is given to an associate who not just works hard for their clients but creates a positive impact in the office and community. The recognition also comes with a donation from Dinsmore to an organization of the recipient’s choice.

Chuck Roesch was celebrated for his outstanding career with this year’s Retired Partner of the Year award. Chuck spent four decades with Dinsmore where he served as chair of the Labor and Employment department, as a member of the Firm’s Board of Directors and finance committee.

Finally, Brian Sullivan was recognized as Mentor of the Year. Voted by his peers for being a source of advice for colleagues and young attorneys starting their careers Brian was applauded for his willingness to share knowledge and invest in the professional growth of those around him.

For 90 years, the premier event has brought together leaders in law, business and government to discuss the state’s growth and opportunities for the future. Nine years. Two weeks of trial. One landmark verdict.

Today, a Dinsmore trial team secured a $36.3 million jury verdict on behalf of LDG Development, LLC in a case involving fair housing and equal protection claims against the City of Prospect, Kentucky. The verdict includes $7.3 million in punitive damages.

This victory reflects years of commitment from a multidisciplinary team led by Tanner Watkins and Kenyon Meyer, with critical contributions from Juels White, Suzy Marino, and Robert Simmons.

Partner Philip Longmeyer has been appointed by Governor Andy Beshear to serve on the Kentucky Public Advocacy Commission.

Phil will represent the Kentucky Bar Association in this role, which oversees the Kentucky Department of Public Advocacy, and the mission to provide free, quality legal representation to indigent Kentuckians accused of crimes or facing a deprivation of liberty throughout the Commonwealth.
