Congratulations to Charles Jackson! Last week's hearing was such a long time coming. I'm so happy to be able to work for and with you on this journey.

Nothing can bring back the decades Charles Jackson spent in prison instead of living as a free, innocent man. But Monday’s wrongful imprisonment declaration recognizes the shocking injustice and losses that Charles endured and exposes the deep flaws of our legal system. FG+G stands with Charles, and all our clients, to demand justice.

The Ohio NLG Radical BIPOC Scholarship applications are due this Friday! For more information & to apply, visit ohionlg.org/scholarship.

The mission of the 2022 Ohio NLG Radical BIPOC Scholarship Fund is to support and strengthen each recipient’s long-term commitment to and ability to engage in radical movement lawyering.

Funds are intended to support recipients while they undertake projects and work in the tradition of “peoples’ lawyering,” and to apply their talents and skills to find creative ways to use the law to advance justice under the supervision of licensed attorneys and mentors.

Projects should provide legal, political, and educational support on a wide variety of issues such as racial justice, mass incarceration, defunding police, housing rights, union democracy, workplace health and safety, LGBTQ rights, defense of protesters from police harassment and criminal sanctions, and international human rights.
You may apply for this scholarship if you already have a project or internship arranged, or if you wish to work with Ohio NLG to secure an internship or define a project.

Scholarships will likely range from $1,500 to $5,000, to be determined by a selection panel based on proposal content, individual need, and availability of funds.

Congratulations and thank you to all of the incredible people and organizations who worked so hard to get this ballot measure passed - seeking oversight, accountability, and change in the CDP.
Citizens for a Safer Cleveland, Latonya Goldsby, Abdul-Kareem Nafi, Black Lives Matter Cleveland, SURJ NEO, and so many more.

In a city with a long history of horrific police violence, a new system to put citizens in charge is on the ballot—and drawing a furious backlash.
