As of January 1, 2021, AB 1950, Californias new law will reduce the probation time of a misdemeanor from 3 to 1 years. It will also reduce Felony probation time from what used to be 3-5 years, to only a 2 year term.

Code: 17B
Penal Code 17B is a motion to reduce a felony offense to a misdemeanor. This motion is only available if the felony is a wobbler, which means the original charge could have been either a felony or a misdemeanor.
