I am so excited and proud that I am part of this huge lawsuit. I have always wanted to fight for justice where I can. I hope my law firm will continue being a voice for the voiceless. Please do not use this post to bash police officers or the victims. This is about stopping individual wrongdoers.

Know your Judge!

Each judge is different. Knowing your judge’s preferences will benefit you in presenting your case effectively. Some judges want lots of evidence and allow for emotional pleas, while others prefer the facts be presented simply and clearly. Before your case is called, pay attention to how the judge responds to other litigants. Does the judge ask a lot of questions or allow the litigants to say everything they want to say? This information will give you insight on how you should present your case to this judge. If the judge asks questions about specific facts, be sure that you answer the questions directly. If the judge allows you to present your side make sure to only discuss the important facts and issues of your case. Presenting facts that are irrelevant or unimportant is likely to frustrate any judge. It is helpful to think about and practice what you want to say to the judge before going to court.

For those of you who do not know, SHARP, Chico's Self Help Assistant Program, has expanded and gotten better since the new Court House opened in Chico.

If you cannot afford an attorney, or you want to try to start things on your own to see if you will need an attorney, give them a call!

They now have computers, printers and seminars to help with most legal problems. They will help you find the proper forms, fill them out and prepare your documents for filing.

Anyone else having problems with CPS this is great news. I have never seen such a backwards boarder line evil organization than CPS here locally. As an attorney I should not be so bold with my comments, but anyone who knows me knows I don't care when there is injustice!
