Behind every proposed cut is a real school. Real students. Real educators. Real families.

Assistant Principal Aida Flores's testimony to the School Board reminded us that assistant principals manage far more than schedules and operations. They build relationships, support vulnerable students, develop teachers, respond to emergencies, and help create the conditions that enable learning to happen every single day.

The responsibility of leading, supporting, and caring for a school and all its students is too great for any one person to carry alone.

When schools lose Assistant Principals, students lose support, teachers lose resources, and principals lose critical partners in the work.

CPAA Auxiliary 2 Vice President and Assistant Principal Aida Flores reminded the Board that leadership in our schools is never optional.

Assistant Principals don't just fill a position.

They help keep schools safe, support teachers, respond to crises, oversee student services, and make it possible for principals to lead effectively. When these positions are cut, the work doesn't disappear. It simply falls on fewer people, with students paying the price.

Every school deserves leaders who help every child thrive.
